#20 Phone test

For this assignment we had to create a phone. To complete this I used adobe illustrator. Using different tools to create different shapes like rectangles and circles I created all the shapes needed. I changed its colors using the gradient tool. I learned how to offset path objects, which is a way to make a copy of an image smaller. I also learned how to group images. Lastly I learned how to apply gradient so that the image will look more realistic.

#19 USB Drive

For assignment number 19 I created a realistic USB drive. First I Opened Adobe Illustrator. Then using the rectangle or ellipse tool I created several different shapes to create the USB drive's body. I then edited all of it gradient to make it look more realistic. With certain shapes I had to place them behind others, and to do this I learned I have to right click then select "Send to back". This makes the object look 3D or more realistic. Finally I added a text on the flash drive using the text box.

#17 Quick Masking

For assignment number 17 we were introduce to a new form of selecting. Instead of using the magnetic lasso or the magic wand we used quick mask. First step was to find a picture, then assuring the foreground color was black while the background color was white, you click on the quick mask icon and color in the selected portion. It will appear red. When you are done you switch the foreground and background color and clean up and mistakes made. The last step was to click select then inverse and you final product is the original image with dash lines around the selected area. This assignment taught me a new way to select a part of a picture. Instead of using a magnetic lasso which is something difficult to get around the object, I can now use the quick mask.

#16 Smart filtering with motion blur

For assignment 16 I opened an image of a train. I then clicked on file-open as smart object. The I clicked on filter-motion blur, that blurred the whole image. Then making sure my foreground color was still black, I click on the filters mask and selected the paint brush tool. Lastly I colored in the specific area I didn't want the filter applied to. This made the train look like it was moving instead of still. With this assignment i learned how to make the illusion of an object in motion.

#15b painted selfie

For assignment #15b we had to create a "painted" selfie. Using the same tutorial as 15a. After finding all the pictures I had to convert its blending mode from normal to hard light. Then i duplicated the layer and saved it for later. Next to desaturate the flag I hit "ctrl+shift+u". This created a grey lighting. I then distorted the image to give it a rigid effect. Lastly I doubled the canvas size and put the original flag and the headshot side by side to the final product.

#15a Painted effect

For assignment number 15 we followed the tutorial on tutorialboard.net. First I opened a new file, found a picture of a flag and a brick wall. Then using ctrl a and ctrl c I place both images on the new file. Then i changed it blend mode to hard light. I then distorted then displaced the image. This made the smooth shapes on the flag look rigid. Lastly I combined the layers.
