#24 3D effect

After choosing a background used the magnetic tool to cut out the gingerbread house from its original image then copied it to the snow background. Then I duplicated the layer and changed took away the blue and green effect. Then I clicked the first image and took off the red effect. After doing each I shifted the object to the right with the arrow key.

#23 Gingerbread House

For assignment 23 I had to create a gingerbread house. Once I opened Google sketch-up, i began by creating a rectangle for the rectangle tool. Then I made a large triangle and used the push&pull tool to drag it across the house. Then to create different details like the lights and window I used different shape tools like the circle and rectangle tool. Again I used the Push&Pull tool to make the shape 3d. Finally i added color and exported both the front iso and back iso views. Doubling the canvas size and using ctrl+a,crtl+c,crtl+v, and ctrl+t I place both images side by side in photoshop.

22 Block Quiz

For the block quiz I began by creating a 3' by 4' rectangle then using the push&pull tool made it 3d. Then i made a vertical line going down the side connected to a 4' line. I think connected that to the tip of the original rectangle and it made a triangle. Again using the pus&pull tool I made it 3d. I completed this on both 2' end of the original rectangle. The next step was similar except its width was 4'. Last step was to mark the dimensions and color the shape using the paint bucket tool.

22 block 12

To complete the final block I began by creating a triangle on the side. Next i created a rectangle next to it. Using the end of the rectangle, I drew a line half way down and created a triangle. In the end i created a rectangle underneath the triangle to fill in the empty space. To complete all of these shapes I first started off with the measuring tape to get my desired lengths, then the pen tool too fill in the dotted line, then the rectangle tool to create the shape and lastly the push&pull tool to give the shape its required dimension. I colored the block according to its size. The front view is red, its top view is yellow,it side view is blue and its slope is a mixture of the top and front, creating orange.

22 11th block

For the 11th block i first made the side rectangle using the measuring tape, pen tool and the rectangle tool. Then i made it 3d by using the push&pull tool. Next I created the rectangle on the ground using the same tools just different dimensions. To create the slant on the side i went down the line half way and create a triangle. Then i used the push&pull tool to add dimension. For the final product I used the paint bucket tool to color it.

22 10th block

To complete the 10th block i first made a small rectangle on both ends the creating two triangles. I did this using the measuring tape, pen and push&pull tools. Then i made the tiny rectangle in between them. To finalize this assignment I selected the paint bucket tool and colored fronts red, the top view yellow,  its side view blue and its slope orange because it is a mixture of red and yellow.

22 9th block

To complete this i made a rectangle then went along the side and created the triangle. I then filled in the gap in between the lowest level and the triangle and created another rectangle. Using the push/pull tool i made the object 3d then filled in with color using the paint buckets tool.

22 8th block

For assignment 22, 8th block the dimensions were 9' by 6' by 5'. To complete this I first used the measuring tape to create my desired lengths. Then I outlined it with the pen tool. Using the rectangle tool and making it 6' tall I made the image 3d. Then from top view I found the desired lengths and used the push/pull tool to cut off selected parts.

22 7th block

For assignment 22 block 7 the dimensions were 8' by 5' by 6'. To create this shape I used the measuring tape to get the desired length then the pen tool to craw the line and the rectangle tool to make it 3d. Then i selected the area i wanted with the pen tool and dragged it up or down with the push/pull tool.

22 6th Block

For assignment 22 block 6 the dimensions were 9' by 6'. I used the rectangle and pen tool to create the base and then using the push/pull tool to elevate or decrease the shape sizes.

22 5th block

For assignment 22 part 5, the dimensions were 8' by 5' by 2'. I used the measuring tape, pen and rectangle tool to create the rectangle. Then using the pen and push/pull tool i increased or erased the other sides.

22 4th block

The first step was to measure two lengths, 7' long along the red line and 6' going diagonal. Then I selected the rectangle tool and just dragged it along to complete the rectangle. Then i measure a 7' by 3' rectangle and dragged in down with the push/pull tool 2' down. The with the portion still high, I measure 2' on both ends wand created another rectangle between those points. I ended the assignment by coloring the sides using the paint bucket tool.

22 3rd block

Assignment 22 part 3 was to create another block. First I measured the length which was 9' and the width which was 4'. I used the measuring tape and pen tool to make the lines. Then selecting the rectangle tool I dragged it along to create a 3d image. Next I made 2 rectangles along the side, one was 2' by 2' and the other was 2' by 4'. Using the push/pull tool I dragged the tool until the block was deleted. Lastly using the paint bucket tool i colored the sides.

22 2nd block

This assignment was my second time creating a block with Google sketch-up. First using the measuring tape I created a line 8' for its length and the width was 5' wide. After I created the base I selected the push/pull tool and dragged the whole thing up to 5'. once that was done, again I selected the measuring tape and measured 1.5' on both sides and drew over it with the pen tool. Then I selected the push'pull tool and pull it down 3'. The next step was similar, I measured 1' on both sides. Then using the pen tool copied over it to assure the section I wanted to changed and pull it up 1'. The last step was selecting the paint bucket tool and coloring the whole block.

22 Blocks

For assignment 22 i had to use sketch-up. I used tools like the line and measuring tape to create a flat shape like a rectangle. Then I used the push/pull tools to make the shape 3d. I was constantly changing the orbital so I can see each side. When I made the block into the shape that it needed to be I then selected the paint bucket tool and colored it in with bright colors. The final step was to save it and then export it to a 2d graphic and convert it to a jpeg.

21C Bubble letters

For assignment 21c the task was to write your name in Bubble letters. Again I had to change the camera perspective. The using the line tool I drew all the letter of my name. If I had to fix any letter I used the eraser or move tool. I then changed the orbital so i could see all around the shape. Lastly I selected the push&pull tool once again to create a 3D effect. When I finished I saved and exported the file to 2d.

21b 3D Graphics

For assignment 21b I learned how to make shapes into 3D form. This makes the shapes have dimensions, so instead of a square having 4 sides, a cube will have 6. After creating the shapes I had to change the camera view using the orbit tool. This allowed me to see all around the shape, Then I selected the push&pull tool and selected the object then dragged it down. I continued to do this for all 3 shapes.

21a Basic tools

For assignment 21a I was introduced to sketch-up. I explored all the different tools used such as the line, rectangle, circle, eraser and move tool. Using these tools I created 3 basic shapes, a triangle, square and circle. To create a triangle i sued the line tool. To create the square I used the rectangle tool. Lastly to create the circle I used the circle tool. To end my assignment I saved the file then exported it to 2D graphic.

Second Marking Period

For the second marking period we continued to use Photoshop and were introduced to adobe illustrator. I had to complete different assignments from a flyer, to a jack-o-lantern to a wireless phone. With all of these assignment I learned how to create different shapes using different tools or how to apply different gradients. Specifically in Abode Illustrator I learned how to create an offset path and create shapes with a designated sizes. Overall I think I deserve a 90-95 in this class. I think I deserve that grade because I've been early everyday and have complete all of my assignment.

#20 Phone test

For this assignment we had to create a phone. To complete this I used adobe illustrator. Using different tools to create different shapes like rectangles and circles I created all the shapes needed. I changed its colors using the gradient tool. I learned how to offset path objects, which is a way to make a copy of an image smaller. I also learned how to group images. Lastly I learned how to apply gradient so that the image will look more realistic.

#19 USB Drive

For assignment number 19 I created a realistic USB drive. First I Opened Adobe Illustrator. Then using the rectangle or ellipse tool I created several different shapes to create the USB drive's body. I then edited all of it gradient to make it look more realistic. With certain shapes I had to place them behind others, and to do this I learned I have to right click then select "Send to back". This makes the object look 3D or more realistic. Finally I added a text on the flash drive using the text box.

#17 Quick Masking

For assignment number 17 we were introduce to a new form of selecting. Instead of using the magnetic lasso or the magic wand we used quick mask. First step was to find a picture, then assuring the foreground color was black while the background color was white, you click on the quick mask icon and color in the selected portion. It will appear red. When you are done you switch the foreground and background color and clean up and mistakes made. The last step was to click select then inverse and you final product is the original image with dash lines around the selected area. This assignment taught me a new way to select a part of a picture. Instead of using a magnetic lasso which is something difficult to get around the object, I can now use the quick mask.

#16 Smart filtering with motion blur

For assignment 16 I opened an image of a train. I then clicked on file-open as smart object. The I clicked on filter-motion blur, that blurred the whole image. Then making sure my foreground color was still black, I click on the filters mask and selected the paint brush tool. Lastly I colored in the specific area I didn't want the filter applied to. This made the train look like it was moving instead of still. With this assignment i learned how to make the illusion of an object in motion.

#15b painted selfie

For assignment #15b we had to create a "painted" selfie. Using the same tutorial as 15a. After finding all the pictures I had to convert its blending mode from normal to hard light. Then i duplicated the layer and saved it for later. Next to desaturate the flag I hit "ctrl+shift+u". This created a grey lighting. I then distorted the image to give it a rigid effect. Lastly I doubled the canvas size and put the original flag and the headshot side by side to the final product.

#15a Painted effect

For assignment number 15 we followed the tutorial on tutorialboard.net. First I opened a new file, found a picture of a flag and a brick wall. Then using ctrl a and ctrl c I place both images on the new file. Then i changed it blend mode to hard light. I then distorted then displaced the image. This made the smooth shapes on the flag look rigid. Lastly I combined the layers.

#14 Halloween Jack-O-Lantern

For assignment 14 we had to create a jack-o-lantern. First step was to open a picture of a pumpkin in Photoshop Then i used the magnetic lasso to only crop the pumpkin and leave its background. Using ctrl+c, crtl+v then crtl+t only the selected area, in my case the pumpkin appeared in a new file.I re-sized it to make it bigger. Then using the pen tool i create its features. To make it look like it was lit I went to the layer panel and changed it inner shadow, outer glow, inner glow, gradient overlay and stroke. Lastly using the brush tool i created what looks like light under the pumpkin.

#13 Change One thing Poster

For assignment #13 we used the posters from NYC FOOD BANK as our guide. The goal was to create a poster that shows how substitute junk food with a healthier option. To complete this task i first found an image of a donuts box and then apples. To apply the apples to the area the donuts once were I used the magnetic lasso. It selected the area that needed to be cropped. Then i used copy merge and place the picture of apples on top of the box. Lastly i clipped the two layers so the apples would take the place of the donuts. To complete this project i added all the texts from the original posters we are mimicking. I added their logo using ctr+a,crtl+c.ctrl+v,and crtl+t

#12 Adding texture via Layers

The first step in completing this assignment was to find a dress that you liked. Then opening Photoshop and applying the magnetic lasso. This outlined the dress so only that selected part would be effected. Then you find a textured that you like, in my case it was lace. I then merged the objects by dragging the texture to the selected part of the dress. Lastly i changed the layer mode to color dodge and lowered the opacity so the texture wouldn't be so dominant.

#11 Flyer using photoshop

For assignment number 11 my Photoshop skills were put to the test as I applied 3 out of the 4 different text effects we learned. First, using the gradient tool i created a gradient background. Then using tutorials i applied the glass and plastic effect to different parts of the flyer. For my last text effect i did something a little different. I began using the tutorial for the crazy text but stopped around step 25. This created two separate backgrounds that make the information stand out. When i finished i saved it as a .psd and .jpeg.
